Industriemalerei im Hamburger Hafenmuseum. Glück gehabt am Pfingstwochenende, vormittags gab es noch keinen Regen.

Gestern auf der Brandenburgischen Landwirtschaftsausstellung, nur ein paar Skizzen.

Yesterday at the Agriculture show, only a few sketches.

 



Hafenmuseum Hamburg

Das Hafenmuseum Hamburg ist ein Paradies für Maler. Parkplätze, Toiletten, Kaffee in der Nähe, Motive ohne Ende, nette Leute, und letztes Wochenende sogar schönes Wetter. So konnte ich Samstag und Sonntag Vormittag ein relativ großes Bild malen, den Dampfeisbrecher Elbe.

The port of Hamburg museum is a paradise for painters. Parking lots,, toilets, coffee nearby objects to paint without end, nice people, and last weekend even nice weather. So I could Saturday and Sunday morning paint a relatively large image, the steam icebreaker Elbe.

Das Museum liegt am Hansahafen.

Ganz vorn am Hafen kann man die Elbphilharmonie sehen, gegenüber werden gewaltige Schiffe mit Containern beladen...
At the end of the harbor you can see the Elbe Philharmonic Hall, in front of huge ships loaded with containers ...

Kräne, alte Wagons und Eisenbahnen, historische Schiffe..

Einige Kräne werden an einer Seite der Elbphilharmonie angebracht.
Some cranes are mounted on one side of the Elbe Philharmonic Hall.

Viele schöne Motive für die Freunde der Industriemalerei.
Many beautiful designs for industrial painting.

 



Magnolien II

Am Magnolienbild weitergemacht, ich lasse es jetzt erstmal so, die Magnolien sind verblüht.

Don´t know how to go on with this painting, so I leave it as it is, blossoms are faded now.

Schade, daß die Magnolien nur so kurz blühen, und dann noch das Wetter..na, mal sehen, ob ich das fertig bekomme...

Too bad that the magnolia blossom is nearly over, and then the weather .. well, let's see if I get that done ...

nun wieder Pferde...

So, Nordsee ist vorbei, nun wieder Pferde:

Das sind meine beiden Pferde, Appaloosa und Lusitano.

Isarco, ein alter Galopper, aber noch gut in Form.

Santino, hier sieht man wie ich die Skizze beginne, fast aquarellartig mit Waschbenzin. Das habe ich bei Roos Schuring gelernt. Mit Waschbenzin trocknet die erste Schicht sehr schnell. Über die grob angelegte Form kann man weitermalen und verdünnt dann wenn nötig mit Terpentin. Auch in den weiteren Schichten wechselt man das Lösungsmittel und die Konsistenz der Farbe je nach Bedarf. Auswaschen, spachteln, wegkratzen, experimentieren, üben, üben üben...

Santino. Here you can see how I start the sketch, almost watercolor-like wash with cleaning spirit what I've learned from Roos Schuring. With cleaning spirit, the first layer dries very quickly. You can continue painting on the first layer and then go on with turpentine if needed. Also, changes in the other layers, the solvent and the consistency of the oil paint as desired. Washing, filling, scrape, experiment, practice, practice, practice ...
